We are a TU Dresden spin-off and founded herone in 2018 as a team of aerospace and lightweight engineers, enthusiastic about questioning the status quo and bringing superior thermoplastic composite profiles into serial applications.
Our Vision is to innovate composites for sustainable living. We see the potential of TPCs and the herone technology for the next generation of ultralight products.

What we strive for
We strive for moving in the right direction towards solutions for more sustainable high-performance products. We design ultralight products to reduce moving mass and save resources especially in mobility application.
We explore new ways towards circular economy, making our products from recyclable and recycled materials. We continuously improve the efficiency of our production to reduce the footprint of our product.

We invent and produce ultralight composite profiles to enable to go beyond limits. Our design, material and processing knowledge enable us to utilize the advantageous material properties of thermoplastic composites and set a new standard in product performance and manufacturing efficiency. Circular Performance of Thermoplastich Composites
Explore new ways towards circular economy for high-performance composites. The objective of this work is to investigate the processing methods for recycled carbon fiber (rCF) tapes and to assess their potential for sustainable high-performance applications. Developing a technology demonstrator, the study aims to demonstrate how rCF tapes can be efficiently processed and to identify challenges as well as optimization opportunities.
Your tasks
- Research & Material Characterization: Analysis of the state of the art for rCF tapes, comparison of processing technologies, selection of suitable materials, and definition of key process parameters.
- Demonstrator Development & Evaluation: Implementation of defined processes for manufacturing a demonstrator, assessing component quality, and comparing results with existing material solutions.
- Optimization & Documentation: Identification of optimization potential, economic and ecological evaluation, documentation of findings, and presentation of recommendations for future use of rCF tapes.
